Corporate Amundi Announces Partnership with Seven Talented Asia Female Golfers

Amundi today announces its sponsorship of seven emerging standouts in women’s golf as they launch their careers in Asia. This marks the launch of Amundi’s third team of up-and-coming women golf players, the Asia Amundi Team.

This launch comes after the creation of the Europe Amundi Team in 2021 and that of the US Amundi Team earlier in 2022, and is testament to Amundi’s growing commitment to women’s golf since becoming the five-year title partner of the women’s golf major in Evian last year, renamed The Amundi Evian Championship. The sponsorship is part of the Amundi Women Talent Program, which provides financial assistance to talented young women golfers from around the world as they compete in high-profile international tournaments, and is borne out of Amundi’s strong commitment to gender equality and diversity. Other major initiatives in support of women’s golf include the title sponsorship of the Amundi Czech Ladies Challenge and the launch earlier this year of the Amundi German Masters, bringing back a top class women’s golf tournament to Germany. Amundi is also supporting the younger generation of golfers, men and women, through the Amundi Young Talent Program.

The seven players are Ruoning Yin, Xiang Sui, Wenbo Liu, Sophie Han and Tiffany Huang from Greater China; Budsabakorn Sukapan from Thailand and Sayaka Takahashi from Japan. The seven athletes have demonstrated immense talent and commitment to the sport in their early careers to date.

  • Xiang Sui, aged 23, started her golf journey at the age of six and participated in the tournaments from seven. Being the second runner-up in the 2015 Wuhan Challenge with the honor of best amateur player at the Tour event in Hubei province, she stood out at the 2021 the China Ladies Professional Golf Association by achieving four winners. Xiang Sui made several top ten finishes in her first professional year.

Representing the Chinese National Golf team, Ruoning secured a bronze medal for the women’s golf team at the Asian Games at the age of 16.

Over the past 12 months, she has delivered impressive performances at major events, including a sixth at the China Amateur Golf Tour Finals in January 2022 and tenth as the youngest player involved in the National Games in Shaanxi in September 2021. She participates in American Junior Golf Association tournaments in the United States in 2022 and will represent Hong Kong in the upcoming Asian Games.
  • Budsabakorn Sukapan, 24, played in Japan LPGA step-up tours after turning into a professional player in 2015. Ranking 24th in the Thai LPGA Order of Merit, Budsabakorn also participated in several LPGA tours in Thailand and China, respectively, and the Korean Women’s Open 2022. Her professional career includes eight wins, and she has secured a place in the upcoming LPGA Tour Qualifying School.
